Gwyn has a long-standing relationship with HCO dating back to 1994 when she worked in community health research at Flinders University. Gwyn is currently Deputy Chair of HCO, having served previously as Chair from 2008 to 2011.
Gwyn completed a PhD Doctorate at Flinders University in 2013 with a thesis titled Evaluating complex community-based health promotion: addressing the challenges. Previous qualifications include a Master of Science (Primary Health Care) and Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health. Gwyn was a Senior Research Officer at the SA Community Health Research Unit, Flinders University from 1994 to 2015. She is the Co-convenor of the Public Health Association of Australia Primary Health Care Special Interest Group and is a member of the Community Advisory Council of the Adelaide Primary Health Network.
Now retired from the paid workforce, Gwyn is a part time carer for her elderly mother and volunteers at two community gardens in Mitcham. Apart from health promotion, her other passion is for animal welfare.
