Every Generation Onkaparinga Awards 2018

Certificate of Recognition & Intergenerational Award

Healthy Cities Onkaparinga was nominated for its contribution to the community, in particular through its leading role in the SaY – The History Storytelling Project “Bringing the past into the future”

through collaboration with Rotary Club of Seaford, Onkaparinga Youth and Allity Aged Care at Hackham, 11 seniors were engaged to share their story.

The project brought together younger and older people providing a greater insight and understanding between the generations and fostered a great sense of community spirit and was truly a moving experience for all involved.

2008

Picture Diary Award
Cities were invited to submit picture diaries from local school students that illustrated healthy family life. Each city was able to submit up to three entries. Due to the short time frame only one school in Onkaparinga (Southern Montessori School) was able to participate and the Healthy Cities Onkaparinga Management Group selected the three top entries to send to Japan. One of the picture diaries won a special prize and the other two received Honourable Mentions. These awards were presented to the students at a school assembly on 3rd December 2008.

Keep Safe, Stay Cool
This program, run from Noarlunga Health Village was awarded a WHO Healthy Cities Good Practice award in the ‘Preventing Violence in Healthy Cities’ category. Gwyn Jolley presented the award to the program staff and participants in 2008.
